This talk, derived from a pair of other works-in-progress, identifies Henry David Thoreau’s principle of “economy” as an important precursor to the contemporary degrowth movement. It was delivered in July as part of the Annual Gathering of the Thoreau Society in Concord, MA. (5:25-20:00)
